Happy New Year!
I know that 2021 was another doozie of a year, but we made it. I'm not here to stir debate or cause problems, so let's go ahead and just wish each other the best coming year possible.
So, I am one of those crazy people that LOVES to write things down. I have multiple calendars around my house. I have journals and lists everywhere. It is who I am as a person. Mainly because if I didn't do it, I would forget EVERYTHING going on in my life and get distracted by anything shiny. Not kidding, I am super easy to distract.
I don't believe in making a New Year's resolution, I try to live my life improving as I go.
This year, though, I am going to try bullet journaling. I know, I know, I am like 15 years behind the curve. I don't know how I have missed it for so long. Probably because I have always used my lots of calendars, journals, and lists system. Hopefully, bullet journaling will be an awesome replacement for all of the moving parts in my current system.
I went onto the giant all knowing all providing website to look for a journal to use for bullet journaling, they wanted astronomical prices for journals. The problem with that site is that they fluctuate their prices based on real time demand, and since most people start their journals on January 1st journals are in high demand. Instead, I went to our local office supply store, the one with the big red button, and found a super generic one for around $11. Again, this is my first time doing this. I bought a smaller size journal because I'm not a fan of the full sized journals. It made it a tighter fit for the "standard" pieces that go into a bullet journal, but it works.
One thing this process will definitely help with is my need to make sure everything is exact and neat. If I was to tear out the page and throw it away when I made a mistake on it (my normal behavior) I would never get anywhere with this, and I would have already tossed 5 pages of this new journal.
I am super excited about the possibility of playing with my colored pens while journaling, I always forget they are there. Another big plus, I think will be that I will be able to keep my journals and look back on them as needed from now on. That's something that crazy me likes to do.
Whatever the new year brings us, may it be with happiness and peace,
Kris
